Philip Yachmetz has over 30 years of experience leveraging his legal skills and business acumen as both Chief Legal Officer and business advisor to companies of all sizes in the public and private sectors of the life sciences and healthcare industries. As an accomplished and business focused attorney, with a broad-based background anchored in complex transactions, corporate governance and business development, he applies a results focused approach utilizing his exceptional analytical skills and operational acumen, vision, and tenacity to produce the desired bottom-line results.

Philip has a reputation for his hands on approach to understanding client’s businesses and needs and excels at identifying and implementing creative solutions to complex business challenges and effectively shepherding companies through critical inflection points in their development and operations.

Philip regularly works with clients on commercial agreements and transactions, M&A and licensing transactions, public offerings and private placement of equity and debt transactions, debt restructuring transactions; management of complex multi-party litigation, management of diverse intellectual property portfolios, employment and labor matters, as well as day-to-day legal issues related to operations. In addition to his legal experience, Philip has a wealth of experience assisting clients with strategic business planning and development, investor and public relations and risk management matters.

Prior to joining Outside GC, Philip served as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer for a publicly traded specialty generic pharmaceutical company; Chief Legal Officer for a privately held fully integrated community healthcare system and management service organization (“MSO”) comprised of a multi-specialty medical group, ambulatory surgical centers, family urgent care centers and cancer care centers, and served as Chief Legal and Chief Business Officer for early stage and commercial stage biopharmaceutical companies, as well as serving as an independent director. Philip received his B.A. in political science from The George Washington University and J.D from California Western School of Law, and is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey and New York.

In his leisure time, Philip pursues an active lifestyle blending his interests of travel (particularly to live jazz festivals and events), tasting and collecting fine wine, cooking, fine dining, boating, as well as working out in his home gym.
