Richard Gastineau joined Outside GC in 2020 with over 25 years of in-house legal experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech and technology industries. Richard has Richard has considerable expertise with life science related agreements, including contract design and negotiation of clinical trial agreements, contract research agreements, manufacturing agreements and a wide range of operational agreements.
Richard has also been lead counsel in numerous strategic merger and acquisition transactions, as well as numerous venture capital and private equity financing transactions. In addition to his extensive commercial and strategic contracting experience, Richard has substantial experience with corporate finance, board governance and management, data protection and privacy and GXP Regulations.
Prior to Outside GC, Richard was the Chief Legal Officer for Invicro, a technology and informatics company that provides solutions to pharmaceutical and biotech companies across all stages of the drug development pipeline (Phase 0-IV), all imaging modalities and all therapeutic areas, including neurology, oncology, cardiology, and pulmonary. Mr. Gastineau also serves as the Executive Chairman and General Counsel to Assistek, is a provider of eCOA, ePRO and other electronic data technologies to the pharmaceutical and biotech companies across all stages of the drug development pipeline
Richard has also been General Counsel for other companies in the life sciences space including Core Clinical, Y-Prime, Beacon Bioscience and Intelligent Imaging, and served as counsel to Icon, PLC and Quintiles. In these roles, Richard gained significant experience in the areas of employment law, immigration, ERP and outsourcing strategies, strategic alliances and corporate compliance.
Following graduation from law school, Richard started his legal career at Ernst & Young as a tax attorney. Richard received his J.D. from Ohio Northern University College of Law, where he was a Member of the Board of Advocates for the Moot Court, served as the Business Editor for the Ohio Northern University Journal of Pharmacy and Law, and was a Contributing Editor to the Ohio Northern University Environmental Law Journal. Richard received his LL.M in taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center and has a Certificate in ERISA/Employee Benefits. Richard received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina.
Richard has lived in Bucks County, PA for the last 25 years and is the proud father of three wonderful, college aged children. When not working, Richard enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, cooking, and spending time with his wife and children.
