Palisa joined the firm in 2019. For the past 24 years, she has practiced as a commercial transactional attorney, with particular focus in the music space. Initially at Sony Music, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, and later in her own boutique entertainment law firm, Palisa has structured, and negotiated a wide range of complex transactions involving music publishers, artists, licensees and distributors. As the Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Sony/ATV, Palisa also regularly provided strategic advice in connection with the exploitation and protection of the compositions in the company’s vast catalog. Highlights include deals for A$AP Rocky, Flo Rida, Pitbull, Cody Simpson, Of Monsters and Men, and the Jonas Brothers.
Palisa is especially adept at quickly and elegantly crafting realistic, workable solutions to complex problems. Her clients rely on her to distill issues and provide concise, actionable advice in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
Palisa began her legal career as a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where she was a member of the team representing ASCAP in the rate proceedings establishing license fees for the public performance of music.
Palisa received a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as Articles Editor of the Law Review, and an undergraduate degree from Harvard College. She lives in South Orange, New Jersey, with her husband and son. Palisa enjoys cooking, kickboxing, traveling, and taking in the jazz music scene in NYC.
