Joseph Tedeschi is an accomplished and strategic senior legal advisor with significant experience in numerous areas, including mergers & acquisitions, commercial contracts, strategic transactions, corporate law and governance and intellectual property. He is also deeply involved in a range of arts, entertainment, culture and non-profit work.
Joseph’s professional career includes roles as the General Counsel to the Credit Cards and Payments division at Citi as well as General Counsel for Citi Holdings and General Counsel of Mergers and Acquisitions. While at Citi Holdings, Joseph led a legal team responsible for over 100 M&A transactions worldwide with combined asset value in excess of $300Bn. His extensive legal career has also included in-house positions in the fields of media and publishing for companies such as Dow Jones and Primedia.
Joseph began his legal career at the law firm of Cahill Gordon & Reindel, where he represented clients in litigation with a focus on First Amendment issues.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of VLA (NY), an organization dedicated to providing pro bono legal representation to artists and arts organizations. He is also a co-founder and board member of YYDC, a non-profit contemporary dance company based in NY.
Joseph graduated from Harvard University, magna cum laude, with a B.A. in History and Literature and earned his J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law. Between college and law school Joseph was a teacher of English Literature in the UK under a Harvard fellowship.
