Berry Flynn Cappucci joined Outside GC in 2017 with over 13 years of experience as an attorney in the life sciences industry in the U.S. and Europe. She has substantial experience with start-ups, mergers & acquisitions and initial public offerings; government regulation and compliance; clinical trials and data privacy; pharmaceutical development, licensing and contracts; and corporate governance for early-stage, fast-growing life sciences companies. Berry's clients at Outside GC include Partner Therapeutics, Censa Pharamceuticals, Aeterna Zentaris and Meditope Biosciences.
Berry's broad range of experience, both as in-house corporate counsel and in a major law firm, enables her to deliver valuable and responsive legal analysis and counsel while focusing on business priorities. She excels in collaborating with diverse stakeholder groups; minimizing business-critical risks; and identifying, exploring and executing on business opportunities.
Prior to Outside GC, Berry provided general corporate legal services for KEW, Inc., a genomic profiling company focused on developing bioinformatics technology for cancer treatment. She joined KEW after serving as Deputy General Counsel for SOTIO, an international biotechnology company focused on clinical development of immunotherapy technologies for oncology. Before SOTIO, she worked in-house for seven years with EMD Serono, Inc., the biopharmaceutical division of Merck KGaA (Germany) where she supported all areas of the company's US businesses. Berry started her legal career with Nutter, McClennen & Fish LLP in Boston in their general corporate practice.
Berry is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Texas Law School (Austin) and is also a certified mediator. Berry earned her B.A. in History, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
Berry is fluent in Spanish and worked in Central and South America prior to law school. She is an active parent in the Canton, Massachusetts public schools, and she enjoys traveling with her family in Latin America.
