Stephan Grynwajc

Stephan is admitted to the practice of law in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and in France/the European Union and has over 30 years of experience advising companies across these jurisdictions on both technology and privacy-related matters, with a particular focus on operational and compliance issues facing U.S.-based technology companies with international operations. Stephan advises clients on all aspects of privacy law, including complying with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA), the Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and the myriad of U.S. state laws and regulations, national EU data protection legislations, and Canadian provincial privacy laws. Stephan also regularly handles a wide range of tech-related transactions under various international laws, and has a proficiency in drafting, negotiating and localizing (to EU, UK and Canadian law) of website/mobile app terms of use, SaaS agreements, and sale and other commercial contracts for use in foreign jurisdictions. By leveraging his knowledge of international legal systems, Stephan is able to help clients navigate the disparate business requirements that exist in different jurisdictions.

Stephan is also an Adjunct Professor of U.S. and international privacy law at the University of Paris School of Law. He has authored a number of books and articles on privacy, and has contributed to the IAPP Privacy Advisor.
