Mark Johnson is a highly skilled privacy lawyer with over 20 years of experience in both private practice and in-house. Mark regularly advises on issues relating to CCPA, GDPR and other privacy law and regulatory compliance matters; drafts, updates and implements public-facing privacy policies and internal policies and training materials; advises regarding data breach notification and mitigation efforts on behalf of his clients; and drafts and negotiates data processing agreements and other contracts related to data processing and transfer arrangements. Additionally, he has significant experience representing nonprofit organizations, including 501(c)(3) charitable organizations and 501(c)(6) industry trade associations, and has worked closely with several federal regulatory agencies, including the Federal Communications Commission, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Congress.
Mark is a fluent Spanish speaker and lived and worked in Buenos Aires, Argentina from 2006 to 2009. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Escuela Argentina, a part-time Spanish-language school in Potomac, Maryland. Mark is also very involved with kids’ soccer club, spending many weekends on the sidelines cheering on his son and daughter.
