Paula has been an attorney with Outside GC since 2005.

Paula brings a comprehensive legal and business background to her clients, having served as General Counsel for Bessemer Venture Partners, in-house counsel in the entertainment industry, and in private law firm practice in New York City. Paula has extensive experience in general corporate counseling, with a related focus on publishing/e-publishing, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital financing. Paula's clients at Outside GC include Jouve S.A., Sharedbook, Inc. and The Wonderfactory.

Most recently prior to joining Outside GC, Paula served as General Counsel for Bessemer Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm with over a billion dollars under management, investing in various technology sectors including communications technology and internet infrastructure. As General Counsel, Paula managed all legal aspects of portfolio company venture capital financing as well as legal affairs relating to Bessemer's investment partnerships and operations. Paula also supported Bessemer's 100+ portfolio companies by providing them legal counsel on a variety of corporate law and general business matters including business contracts (service agreements, software licenses, NDAs, vendor agreements, etc.), corporate ownership and governance, corporate charter interpretation, stock option plans and vesting, employment issues, intellectual property protection, leases, dispute resolution and HR and risk management policies and procedures. Before going in-house at Bessemer, Paula spent approximately 12 years in New York City law firm practice, first at Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP, and then at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, LLP, where she specialized in general business and transactional law and trademark protection, and represented non-profit organizations in connection with joint-venture alliances in the area of technology development.

Paula received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami (graduating Magna Cum Laude) and received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a member of the International Law Review and graduated in the top 10% of her class.

Paula grew up in Miami, Florida, where she graduated as Salutatorian from Deerborne Academy at the age of 15. In her leisure time Paula embraces spending time with her husband and three daughters, Alexa, Christy and Livy. She loves running or any cardio activity, playing tennis, and playing the piano.
