Jackie has been an attorney with Outside GC since 2005.
Jackie brings a unique combination of legal and technology experience to Outside GC, having served both as in-house and outside counsel to companies in different industries and, prior to becoming an attorney, as a software engineer. Jackie's legal practice has focused on employment and labor law, immigration counseling and litigation. Jackie has a wide variety of clients at Outside GC, including ZINK Imaging, Inc. and Acceleron Pharma, Inc.
Before joining Outside GC, Jackie was Assistant General Counsel for Genuity Solutions Inc., a public telecommunications company that was spun off from GTE Internetworking, where she was responsible for litigation, employment and labor matters, benefits, corporate compliance, and day-to-day legal issues. Jackie began her career in private practice in Morrison & Foerster in Silicon Valley and later, at Hale and Dorr (now Wilmer Hale) in Boston. Prior to attending law school, Jackie spent four years working as a software engineer in Silicon Valley, initially at Oracle Corporation and later at a start-up company, Notable Technologies.
Jackie has represented both public and private companies in a wide variety of legal matters, including employment and labor matters, immigration, technology licensing, general business counseling, and litigation. She has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating a broad range of documents and contracts for day-to-day business transactions of all types, including employment, severance, and settlement agreements, employment-based visa applications, severance and stock option plans, as well as a wide variety of software licensing, open source, OEM, research and development, and vendor/supplier agreements. In addition, Jackie has litigated employment and labor-related cases in both state and federal courts, including non-competition injunction proceedings. She represents clients before state and federal agencies, such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, as well as at arbitration and mediation proceedings, unemployment hearings, and unfair labor practice proceedings.
Jackie is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of California.
She received her B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University in 1989, and her law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, in 1996, where she was a Senior Editor of the California Law Review. In 2004, Jackie participated in Harvard University's Program on Mediation for lawyers.
Jackie grew up in New Canaan, CT and currently lives in Lexington, MA with her husband Tony, and her two children, Ally and Ben. In her spare time, Jackie likes to play tennis, paint, and laugh.
