Alan Roth brings both enthusiasm and expertise to the practice of business law.
As VP and General Counsel at CEE, a high-tech incubator, he counseled a number of
start-ups, including domestic and international corporations, joint ventures, and
LLCs, as well as investment partnerships and off-shore investment entities. More
operationally, he was General Counsel, Secretary, and a Board Director at C-Bridge
Internet Solutions, Inc. (since merged into Progress Software), an internet consultancy.
Getting deals to close -- whether that means negotiating a software license, executive
compensation, revenue splits for a JV, M&A, or a stock sale -- remains Alan's
favorite legal work. At the same time, he is always aware of the necessity of
getting routine legal tasks right so a business can avoid disruptions and get on
with its work. Prior to going in-house, he was an associate at Bingham McCutchen
and Hemenway & Barnes in Boston. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Amherst College,
has a master's decree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and
got his JD at Stanford Law School.
