Before founding Outside GC, Jon was Vice President and General Counsel for Inso Corporation (later eBT International, NASDAQ:EBTI), an international enterprise software company.
While at Inso, Jon handled multiple domestic and international business acquisitions and divestitures, oversaw the settlement of two class action shareholder lawsuits, managed a formal Securities and Exchange Commission inquiry, and developed a web-based contracts process that allowed the legal department to efficiently draft and negotiate over one hundred license agreements per quarter. After leaving Inso, Jon joined Quadstone, a Scottish-based CRM analytics vendor, as Vice President and General Counsel. At Quadstone, Jon was responsible for all of the corporation’s legal affairs in both the US and the UK, and also managed the corporation’s US-based finance, HR, IT, facilities and administrative functions and employees. Jon began his legal career in private practice, first at Mintz Levin, where he worked primarily on large corporate transactions, and then at Lucash Gesmer & Updegrove, where he focused on intellectual property and software licensing. Jon is a graduate of Northwestern University and Northeastern University School of Law. Jon is involved in a leadership role on many community and non-profit boards and committees including Combined Jewish Philanthropies, coaches youth sports in his town, and is a member of the Boston chapter of EO, an international organization of entrepreneurs.
“It is easy to find a lawyer to dispense
legal advice but rare to find someone who possesses both a keen legal
mind as well as an understanding of business and strategic issues.”
