Larry Kranseler joined Outside GC in 2011, having last served as Vice President of Legal at Hasbro, Inc.  Larry’s experience includes dealing with a wide variety of legal and business issues faced by a multi-billion dollar enterprise from the perspective of a senior executive and a business-oriented attorney.

Before joining Outside GC, Larry spent over 21 years at Hasbro with various responsibilities over his career including building, managing and leading a team of lawyers and paralegals tasked with legal responsibility for the company’s toy marketing and development operations.  

Larry has a proven track record of successful commercial negotiations resulting in significant corporate revenue and is known for being an innovative problem solver and key partner to the business.  Larry was instrumental in negotiating and managing Hasbro’s strategic relationships with such large scale partners as LucasFilm, Marvel and Sesame Workshop and also negotiated and managed numerous other key licensing and entertainment-based agreements.  His responsibilities included advising on and approving products, packaging and advertising for Hasbro’s toy business as well as providing legal and business counsel for the operation and strategic direction of the business.  During his tenure at Hasbro, he created the company’s original corporate ethics code of conduct and at various times was responsible for several of the company’s corporate/finance and product divisions, as well as managing intellectual property and litigation matters.  

Prior to joining Hasbro, Larry spent his early career at Hale and Dorr (now Wilmer Hale), a large Boston-based national law firm.  He represented clients in mergers and acquisitions, syndications and other corporate transactions, and provided general and transactional representation of small and medium sized companies and venture capital firms.

Larry is a Summa Cum Laude graduate in Economics from the School of Management at Boston College where he received the James E. Shaw Memorial Award, given to the school’s top graduating student admitted to law school.  He received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and also earned his M.B.A. from the Wharton Graduate School of Business.

Larry served as the long-term Treasurer, Chairman of the Finance Committee and Board of Directors member of a Jewish Big Brother Big Sister organization.  He also served as a big brother in the same organization for several years.  He has been a member of the Board of Directors and, subsequently, Supporters Council of the Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureau, a self-regulatory agency for advertising to children.  He has been a coordinator of youth basketball programs in his hometown and has also coached various youth baseball, softball, basketball and soccer teams.

Larry grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts and currently lives in Sharon, Massachusetts with his wife and three children.  He enjoys playing golf and tennis and traveling with his family, as well as rooting on all of the Boston professional sports teams.
